Modernizing Utility Rate
Plan Infrastructure
Software tools and standards that make utility rate plan data structured, interoperable, and accessible.
UtiliPub™ Explorer
A central, machine-readable source of truth for rate plan data, built for utilities, energy companies, and regulators.
Built on the URPX open standard
URPX is the open standard for machine-readable utility rate plan data, developed under the Linux Foundation Energy umbrella. Data created with URPX is fully portable, with no vendor lock-in. A dedicated URPX site will be released shortly.
Building for energy equity
Over 3,000 US utilities publish rate plans as PDFs and spreadsheets. These documents govern billions of dollars in energy costs, yet they remain in formats that resist automation and comparison.
Shared infrastructure — an open standard and the tools built on it — benefits utilities, regulators, developers, and the communities they serve.
